Wildcat Art Wins Top Honors
WINNING ART: Francine T.'s artwork won First Place in the Middle School Division at the Isla Art-a-thon held this month.
Francine along with classmates Brytney G. and Aleiah C. have their artwork currently on display at the Isla Center for the Arts gallery at the University of Guam's Dean's Circle. All three students are in Mr. David Castro's art classes. Francine and Brytney also won for First and Second Place Fundraisers for the gallery.

Sanchez Students Present Environment Issues
ENVIRONMENT PRESENTATIONS: Untalan students took part in activities and listened to presentations by students from Simon Sanchez High School on Jan. 29. The service-learning presentations promoted the protection of the environment. Topics included aquifer (pictured above), turtle poaching, air pollution, dolphins in captivity, and invasive species. Thank you to Mrs. Arlene Castro for coordinating the event.
A Christmas Wish

Typhoon Haiyan Relief
Members of the National Junior Honor Society, its advisors, teachers and administrators presented the Filipino Community of Guam with a donations for victims of Typhoon Haiyan/Yolanda in the Philippines. The donations filled the FCG van. Principal Duenas(center) hands off the donations to FCG President Roy Adonay.
Groundbreaking @ Old Campus
A groundbreaking ceremony was held at the 55-year old Barrigada campus on Nov. 27, attended by many dignitaries. Renovations will include the construction of new classrooms as well as a new parking and drop off area.

Wildcats Win Championships
First Quarter athletes finished their season with two championships in Boys Volleyball & Girls Cross Country! This is also the 2nd year in a row that UMS has won the championship in Boys Volleyball. Great job to the athletes and coaches Mr. Gomez and Mr. J. Aguon (Cross Country) and Mr. Pama (Boys Volleyball).

Wildcats Donate to Flood Victims
The Untalan Middle School community donated to those affected by the recent floods on island. Donations were proudly presented by Ms. Duenas, our school principal, along with several faculty to Mayor June U. Blas and Vice Mayor Jessie P. Bautista who in turn will distribute to families affected in the community. Thank you to Sun Pacific Enterprises, Inc., LPUMS Sunshine committee and all LPUMS administrators, faculty, staff and students.

The 8A Team created their annual Sept. 11 banners to commemorate and inform students about the tragedy, for which this year's eight graders are too young to remember.
All teachers are encouraged to do lunchtime supervision, but Mrs. Michelle Cruz (left) and Mrs. Melinda Rolinski were happy to supervise under the rain on Sept. 10.

Wildcats attend Conference
Eight UMS teachers attended the 28th Annual Pacific Educational Conference in July 16-19, 2013. The conference was hosted by the Commonwealth of the Northern Marianas Islands. "The PEC CONFERENCE was an amazing experience. It was collaborated effort among Pacific educators sharing their best practices," said Social Studies teacher Rodney Pama (pictured far right).
