M.U. Lujan Holds Thanksgiving Poster and Essay Contest

Customs & Quarantine Agency Sponsors Event with First Lady Joann Camacho

(Hagåtña, Guam) The students of M.U. Lujan Elementary School held a Poster & Contest today with the theme: “What Am I Thankful For?” Students in grades Kindergarten to Third who entered the contest were asked to draw a poster on their experiences on what they thought they were thankful for this year. Jonah Guerrero took first for Kindergarten, Malia Salisbury was tops for First graders, Michael Santos was first for all Second graders, and Joseph Uncangco’s poster was tops in the Third grade category.

Students in the Fourth and Fifth grades were asked to write an essay on what they had to be thankful for this year. The judges had to call a tie in the Fifth grade category and so First place went to Sirena Garrido and Courtney Mantanona. Virjulynn Rogolofoi took first place honors for Fourth graders.

First Lady Joann Camacho congratulated all the participants and presented Certificates to all the winners along with officials from the Department of Customs and Quarantine who sponsored the event.
