Schools Welcome Back Teachers & Greet New Colleagues at Orientation |

(Hagåtña, Guam) From Upi Elementary School in Yigo to Southern High in Santa Rita, Guam’s Public Schools welcomed back faculty today. Amongst the returning teachers were new teachers to Guam coming from all points around the United States. Guam Public Schools held orientation for teachers this morning and introduced new faculty as well. Harry S. Truman Elementary Principal, Robert Martinez said “Teachers are very motivated, have energy and ready to do whatever they need to do to have a successful year.” Southern High School Principal Ed Dunn met with his faculty this morning and is glad to hear the teachers are “very positive, and inspired. There is some good morale building here at Southern.” About eleven new teachers will be assigned to Southern, five coming from off island. Associate Superintendent for Secondary, Kenneth Chargualaf started the day visiting all the southern schools and GWHS. Chargualaf said “Teachers are very eager and miss the students, the classroom, and working with their colleagues.” Chargualaf said “The teachers are very excited and ready for the new school year.” Today marks the end of summer for public school students.
