Guam Public School System Concludes 2005 Leadership Academy

(Hagåtña, Guam) Five days of work sessions, dynamic guest speakers, and selected panels from the department have made this year’s Summer 2005 Leadership Academy a success. The Academy had over 120 participants who gathered under this summer’s theme “Sustaining Our Profession, Building for Tomorrow” The Leadership Academy focuses on administrators and teaches the fundamentals of school leadership and the standards by which principals are held accountable to.

The Guam Public School System continues to support professional development and provides work sessions and seminars throughout the year to recruit and strengthen assistant principals, principals, and administrators and their efforts to be better school leaders.

Through concepts such as Breakthrough Thinking, and Building Learning Communities, it is Guam Public School System’s hope that administrators will gain new and revived knowledge as school instructional leaders.

Through its vision of preparing students for life, promoting and providing support to its personnel, the Guam Public School System anticipates trained professionals succeeding in the department to lead and guide our teachers to ensure every child receives an Adequate Public Education.
