(Hagåtña, Guam) The 2005 Leadership Academy began its fourth day this morning at the Westin Resort Guam in Tumon. About 120 administrators are taking part in the seminar designed to prepare and train principals for careers in school leadership. The Academy is a continuing education institute for Guam Public School System administrators based on the Interstate School Leaders Licensure Consortium Standards. Participants have been involved with topics on Building Learning Communities, Management and Leadership, and Effective Communication. It is the hope of the Guam Public School System that each participant gain knowledge and understanding about managing and leading Guam’s schools, continuously develop a professional community of learner-leaders, and develop professional theories of leadership for action and results.
