Administrators Continue Second Day of Leadership Academy Training |
|
(Hagåtña, Guam) After a break from the Liberation Day holiday, the Guam Public School System continued day number two of the 2005 Leadership Academy at Westin Resort Guam in Tumon. About 120 new principals, assistant principals, aspiring administrators and seasoned principals and administrators are participating. This year’s theme “Sustaining Our Profession: Building for Tomorrow” is the focus for these school leaders who continue to serve Guam’s public school students. Guided by the Interstate School Leaders Licensure Consortium (ISLLC) standards for school leaders, participants examine the different scenarios, case history, and the latest research on school leadership. Topics on each standard are discussed through speakers and other concept learning sessions to include, Breakthrough Thinking, Learning Communities, and engaged Dialogue. Participants study each standard and their role as it applies to student achievement and how their performance as school leaders is evaluated. Sessions continue next week Monday, July 25 and conclude on Wednesday, July 27, 2005. For more information, contact Academy Chairperson, Associate Superintendent for Curriculum & Instruction Eloise Sanchez, at 475-0444. |
