Proposals for School Year 2005-2006 High School Enrollment to be Presented Superintendent to discuss redistricting plans |
|
(Hagåtña, Guam) The Guam Public School System will host a meeting for parents, students, staff and faculty and other GovGuam agency representatives to address plans for redistricting student enrollment at Guam’s public high schools. Superintendent of Education, Juan P. Flores will be making a presentation at 6:00 p.m., Thursday, July 7, 2005, in the cafeteria at Tamuning Elementary School. Superintendent Flores will be addressing concerns regarding the effects of changing the attendance areas for student enrollment in the Northern and Central public school districts. Projected increases in high school enrollment and the already overcrowded situation at Simon Sanchez High School in Yigo have prompted the Public School System to move forward with plans to reassign a portion of students to other campuses. The Guam Education Policy Board voted in two previous meetings not to hold double sessions at Sanchez High thus prompting the Superintendent and system administrators to make preparations for other alternatives to the situation.
