(Hagåtña, Guam) The Department of Education is holding a workshop today at the Hilton Hotel for administrators and division heads on the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act. Since November 19, 2004, the U.S. Congress passed H.R. 1350, the Individual with Disabilities Education Improvement Act of 2004 (IDEA 2004). President George W. Bush last December 3, 2004 signed the bill into law creating Public Law 108-446. Gail ImObersteg, Esq., will be at the training session to present an overview of the changes introduced under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Improvement Act of 2004 to school administrators and special education coordinators. Issues and concerns regarding the new law will be addressed to include changes that directly impact school administration for special needs students.
