October Schedule of Events

Tuesday, Oct. 1: Red Ribbon Month Resolution Ceremony
School Assembly in the Cafeteria—Our school placed first in last year's Red Ribbon Video Contest and has the honor of hosting this year's ceremony with guests from the Guam Legislature, Guam Army National Guard, and other members of the Red Ribbon Committee.

Wednesday, Oct. 2: Pastry Workshop
6pm in C102—Guest Pastry Artist Mylene Valdez, from Vancouver, will be hosting a workshop as part of the Fiestan SaluSalo tour events by Humanities Guahan. Admission is $45 per person. View flyer.

Thursday, Oct. 3: Parent-Teacher Association Meeting
5:30pm in the School Cafeteria. The meeting is mandatory for parents of out-of-district students.

Thursday, Oct. 10: Faculty Meeting
Monthly faculty meeting will be at 7:30am in B109 and B110.

Monday, Oct. 14: Professional Development Day
No classes will be held. This is a full-day professional development for school employees.

Wednesday, Oct. 16: Half Day Professional Development
Students will be released at 12pm. Professional Development will be from 12:30-3:30pm.

Thursday, Oct. 17: Great American Shakeout
The school will drop, cover, and hold on as part of the worldwide drill at 10:17am on October 17.

    Announcements

    Dengue Fever Concerns: Due to recent reported cases of dengue fever, the Guam Departmet of Education Superintendent Jon Fernandez has sent a letter to parents and guardians about the situation. The superintended also asked administrators to temporarily relax the uniform policy. The guidelines for LPUMS students are as follows:

    For Monday, Sept. 23—Three schools (not LPUMS) will be closed due to Dengue Fever concerns.

    School Portraits Week
    Monday, Sept. 23 - Friday, Sept. 27, 2019

    Students were given envelopes with portrait package and payment information from their math teacher with a specific schedule of the day they will take their portrait. Posters of the school portrait week date and packages were posted around campus.

    The Counseling Center sent out the Counseling Consent Forms. If the forms are not signed by a parent or guardian, the student will not be able to utilize the services of the Counseling Center.

    Busing Information

    Students should be sitting quietly at their dismissal assignments if they are waiting for their bus home. The dismissal assignments can be viewed here.

    Uniforms
    View the Orientation Presentation above for specific do's and don't's of wearing your school uniform. Our official uniform vendor is Gino's in Tamuning. Other uniforms from other vendors are not approved by the school and parents should not purchase a uniform from any other vendor besides Gino's.
